artist in residence: matthew ashjian

galería perdida is pleased to announce its 2007 artist in residence, Matthew Ashjian. Merging architecture, painting, drawing and sculpture to culminate in geometric forms that adhere to the architecture they are presented in, the artist will create a body of work that is removed from his traditional practice. Provided with a studio in Michoacán, México, the artist will be surrounded with elements considered outside his realm. The influence of his environment will be made evident, as he, at the end of his term, will present a lecture on his newest body of work. galería perdida is proud to announce the 2007 artist in residence, Matthew Ashjian.
